If you are experiencing rotting, warping and general failure of your hardboard siding, welcome to the Defective Hardboard Siding Information Center! Either you or someone you know is having a problem with hardboard siding on a home, condo, apartment or mobile home, and you need information. So did I a few years ago, but it wasn't until January 1998 that I began using the Internet as a research tool. This site is designed to provide information to homeowners and builders about hardboard siding.

CAEC's mission is to provide useful consumer education materials and to advocate the rights of consumers through letter writing campaigns, press conferences, and petition drives. We also encourage consumers to stand up for their rights when dealing with unscrupulous companies and to Speak Out Against Corporate Misconduct whenever it occurs. Consumer Aid Education Center (CAEC) is entirely self funded. We do not accept monetary donations. We do not maintain any corporate or government affiliations and we do not accept corporate or government grants. CAEC is a national, public service organization that is funded by its board members.
Its mission will be to inform and educate homeowners and future homeowners on such things as what to look for when buying a home, remodeling, what goes into building a whole house, maintenance, and green building. Green building is building or remodeling with safe and environmentally friendly materials.
