The Real Facts About EIFS
- Resources for Fairfax County Residents -
As residents of Fairfax County we are able to provide some additional resources to other Fairfax County residents. We have been working with Paul Lynch, Chief of the Residential Inspections Branch of Fairfax County. Mr. Lynch has been very involved in this issue and is justifiably concerned. He has visited several homes with damage and has personally inspected them. He is an advocate of a state-wide moritorium on the use of non-drainable barrier EIFS. If you are a home-owner who is concerned about the EIFS problems it is important to let the Inspections Department know. They are now on-line.
Additionally, we have made a video availble through the Fairfax County Library system. This video contains footage of new reports from the Atlanta area (EIMA's own back yard) and a very eye-opening presentation by Jay Graham, Chief of Inspections for New Hanover County, N.C. Jay was one of the first to discover and investigate wide-spread problems. His presentaion is very objective and is a must-see for anyone considering any type of legal action. Be sure to watch the entire presentation, including the question-and-answer session at the end. The regional libraries should have 3 copies each and the smaller libraries should have 1. Simply ask for the "NOVASHOC Video". If they tell you they don't have it, ask them to check under "Stucco Litigation".
