The Real Facts About EIFS

- The Medlin Case -

In the first jury verdict in an EIFS liability case on the East Coast (that we know of) Pam and Tom Medlin of Greensboro, N.C. were awarded approximately $220,000 in the trial against their builder. As we have indicated in several places on this site, we are definitely not advocates of blaming the builders. In a telephone interview with Pam Medlin she stated that she would not normally have blamed the builder. She stated that there were "other issues involved in our case. For example, we were told that we had a stucco home. We were not even aware we had synthetic stucco [EIFS] until we read about the Senergy [their EIFS manufacturer] suit". After reading about the problems and discovering that they had Senergy EIFS the Medlins had their home tested by an independent inspector who found damage. Not wanting to be constrained by a class-action settlement, they opted out of the Senergy settlement and proceeded on their own.

The Medlins have a web-site. Please note, before visiting their site, that it is a commercial venture. In an effort to recoup some of the legal costs of the suit, the Medlins are making much of their suit-related information available. EIFSFACTS.ORG has not reviewed the information offered, does not endorse their site and is in no way connected with their venture.
