- Mold, Mildew and Health Problems -

We have received calls and e-mails from a number of home-owners with moisture-intrusion problems who are complaining about resperatory and allergy problems. They all have told us that their symptoms either occur only at home or are worse at home than in many other buildings. They unanimously agree that the mold and mildew resulting from the high moisture levels in their homes are the cause. Several of these folks have told us they are considering having their local health department come in to take air samples. We have come accross a very good article by the University of Minnesota on the subject of how airborn mold and mildew can affect your health. The article is written for the layperson. There was also a very good article in the Savannah Morning News about a physician and his family who have had health problems that he attributes to the moisture-intrusion problems in his EIFS home.

We have also been contacted by an attorney who is investigating the issue and will post contact information as soon as he makes it available.
