Home warranty company refuses to cover repairs

As a result of a news story, Washington state Insurance Commissioner to investigate the home warranty company Capital Home Shield.

To find out if a home warranty co is registered with the state of WA: Washington go to the WA state Insurance Commissioner's website: http://www.insurance.wa.gov/ However, as a result of HADD's extensive work with homeowners who had warranty problems, we've learned that most home warranty co's are "Risk Retention Groups," not "insurance," and many states allow them to operate without much oversight.
